Steve's project phase I and II

Steve loves being outside with the kids and he has been really busy the past couple of weeks trying to build some fun things for them. The first part of his project was cutting down some trees to put up some chain swings. To save a buck (good ol thrifty Steve, it kills him to spend a dime on anything) he was cutting them down with a hand saw, a circular saw, and a midget ax! It was taking him forever and I was just laughing at him hacking away for an hour on a tree stump with his little hatchet. I bought a small chain saw for him because I don't have his patience, and what would have taken him another month only took about 30 min. He's gone a little crazy with the chainsaw now though and I'm trying my best to save as many branches as I can!

For phase II, He had to cut down a lot of branches for the rope swing. I thought he was getting a little carried away but he was having a good time and the kids absolutely love the rope swing! It scares me a little how high he flings them on it but thats why they love it. Whats a few broken bones if your having a good time right? ha ha! Nah, they hang on pretty tight, I'm not too worried.

Phase III is Kaia's baby swing. He has a spot all cleared for it, we just have to go buy the swing. I may even do that part myself while he is gone. The next part is the two story tree house. He will probably start working on that next week on his four days off. And lastly, if he still has the energy, he wants to do a zip-line. We will probably have the whole project finished right before we leave on our vacation, and we will be gone for three weeks, so it may be a while before the kids get to use everything!
